Artifact is a digital card game developed by Valve. It was announced on 2017-08-08 and was released for Steam on 2018-11-28 (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Price[edit]

With your inital purchase of the game (currently $20 USD), you will get the following:

In addition, 15 more Card Packs and 15 additional Event Tickets can be unlocked via a progression system.

Additionally, you can purchase Card Packs (containing 12 Cards) for $2 USD each.

Gameplay Summary[edit]

In Artifact, two players face off against each other on three separate Lanes, matching the 3-lane setup of Dota 2. Each player brings three pre-built sets of cards to play: a Draw Deck, an Item Deck, and five Heroes.

The game starts by playing the first three Heroes of each player into random lanes and dealing a starting hand to each player from their Draw Deck. A series of phases are played out in each lane one at a time, with both players having the chance to play cards down into that particular lane, culminating in a Combat Phase once both players have passed.

Each lane has two Towers, one for each player. If a Tower is destroyed in any lane, it will expose that player's Ancient, which is twice as tough as a normal tower. If a player loses their Ancient or loses a second tower, the game ends and their opponent is awarded victory.

For more detailed information, see Game Phases
